EC extends polling time by 30 minutes for first section of Bengal elections

The Election Commission (EC) has prolonged polling time by 30 minutes for the primary section of West Bengal meeting elections, and voters will now be capable to train their franchise from 7 am to six.30 pm, a notification issued by the ballot panel on Tuesday stated.

The choice was taken in view of the COVID-19 restrictions, an election official right here stated.

“Retaining in thoughts the continued COVID-19 state of affairs, the fee has determined to increase polling time by 30 minutes. It is going to now be held from 7 am to six.30 pm. The notification for the primary section of polls in West Bengal was issued this midday,” he stated.

The primary section of elections is scheduled to be held on March 27 in 30 meeting constituencies.
