The Hindu Sena has put up posters and saffron flags close to the primary gate of the Jawaharlal Nehru University and surrounding areas near every week after a conflict broke out in a hostel over allegedly serving non-vegetarian meals throughout Ram Navami. It additionally warned of “stringent steps” if there’s an “insult to saffron”.

Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta stated the posters studying “Bhagwa (saffron) JNU” have been put up by the right-wing outfit’s nationwide vice-president Surjit Singh Yadav.

Two teams of scholars clashed at JNU’s Kaveri Hostel on Sunday allegedly over serving non-vegetarian meals within the mess on Ram Navami, with police saying six college students had been injured within the violence.

The JNU College students’ Union (JNUSU) alleged that Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad members stopped college students from consuming non-vegetarian meals within the hostel mess and “created a violent environment”.
