India’s mango, pomegranate exports to US to begin from Jan-Feb 2022


The federal government on Saturday stated that exports of mango and pomegranate from India to the US will begin from January-February to spice up the nation’s outbound shipments of agri-products.

The commerce and business ministry additionally stated that exports of pomegranate aril to the US and imports of Alfalfa hay and cherries from America would additionally start from April this 12 months.

India has not exported mangoes to the US for the final two years as inspectors from American companies, who used to go to India to certify the produce, couldn’t journey as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. They haven’t visited India within the summers of 2020 and 2021.

“In pursuant to the 12th India-USA commerce coverage discussion board assembly held on November 23, 2021, the Division of Agriculture and farmer’s welfare and the US Division of Agriculture (USDA) have signed a framework settlement for implementing the two Vs 2 agri-market entry points,” the ministry stated.

This entry framework contains inspection and oversight switch for Indian mangoes, pomegranate and pomegranate arils, and market entry for US cherries and Alfalfa hay in India.

Mango and pomegranate exports will begin from January-February 2022 and pomegranate aril from April 2022,” the ministry stated.

Furthermore, the Division of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has conveyed its readiness to offer market entry for US pork, in keeping with the ministry.
