Maharashtra transport staff storm Sharad Pawar’s home | India Information – Instances of India


MUMBAI: Over 100 Maharashtra State Street Transport Company (MSRTC) staff stormed into the compound of Sharad Pawar’s residence Silver Oak on Friday, hurling chappals, sneakers and stones and shouting slogans towards the NCP chief for his “failure to deal with grievances” of state bus company staff who’ve been on strike for 5 months. The protestcame a day after Bombay HC requested the employees to renew responsibility by April 22. Native police later moved the protesters out in a bus to Yellow Gate police station. State house minister Dilip Walse Patil of NCP ordered a probe.
Police stated over 100 protestors have been arrested for rioting, obstructing public servants in discharge of responsibility and conspiracy. A constable was injured within the incident. Police arrested lawyer Gunratna Sadavarte, who has been showing for MSRTC unions, for instigating the protestors.
Makes an attempt by Pawar’s daughter MP Supriya Sule, who was current on the residence, to placate protesters fell on deaf ears. She retreated and later returned when NCP activists arrived and started shouting slogans in Pawar’s help.
Pawar blamed the management of the agitating staff for “deceptive” them. Sule later instructed the media the employees ought to sit down peacefully and talk about points. Requested what may have provoked such a protest, she replied, “I don’t know. . . My home has been attacked and that is unlucky. ” She appealed to get together staff to not get provoked.
