NEW DELHI: Leaders of 13 opposition parties on Saturday expressed deep concern over the current incidents of hate speech and communal violence within the nation and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s silence over the problem.
“We’re shocked on the silence of the Prime Minister, who has failed to talk in opposition to the phrases and actions of those that propagate bigotry and people who, by their phrases and actions, incite and provoke our society. This silence is an eloquent testimony to the truth that such non-public armed mobs benefit from the luxurious of official patronage,” they mentioned within the joint assertion.

In a joint assertion, the leaders together with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, and her Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand counterparts M Okay Stalin and Hemant Soren, additionally raised concern over the way through which points referring to meals, costume, religion, festivals and language “are getting used” by the ruling institution to polarise society.
The opposition leaders appealed to all sections to take care of peace, foil sinister goal of those that want to sharpen communal polarisation.
