Shiv Sena caught in a predicament over refinery challenge


The Maharashtra authorities has recommended to the Centre to arrange the Nanar Refinery challenge at Barsu village of Rajapur in Ratnagiri district.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had written to the PM early this 12 months informing him that the state would love the challenge to be positioned at Barsu village and that the state was able to facilitate the challenge.

Nonetheless, the Shiv Sena is now caught in a predicament of its personal making as on Wednesday lots of of villagers from Barsu marched to the Rajapur Tehsil workplace asking the federal government to not go forward with the challenge in Barsu as it will hurt the surroundings.

The Shiv Sena, when in energy with the BJP in 2014, had scuttled the challenge in Nanar after villagers opposed it.

Reacting to the protests, minister Aaditya Thackeray stated, “The challenge might be applied solely after persons are taken into confidence.”
